    Using the Contactless Scanner EPIC 4870 is very straightforward. The mobile object table can be detached and wheeled around, which proves remarkably useful, particularly when dealing with bulky or weighty originals. Simply wheel the table towards the object, place it on the table, roll the table back into the scanner and plug it in. Now you can hit the scan button and the rest of the process is fully automatic. The optical scanning unit descends until the optimal position is reached, with a sophisticated laser grid system continuously assessing the surface of the original and halting the camera upon achieving its scanning position. Every SMA scanner comes equipped with a special LED light illuminator that doesn’t produce any ultraviolet or infrared radiation. This ensures a harmless and consistent illumination. The illuminator, which is housed within the scan head, simply moves smoothly across the original.
